Ambassador’ visit to Santo Domingo and the presentation of the copies of his credentials to the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic

From May 19th to May 21st the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Mexican States, Mr. Malkhaz Mikeladze, on the sidelines of his working visit to Santo Domingo (the Dominican Republic), presented the copies of the credentials to the Dominican Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Jose Manuel Trullols.

 

The ceremony of presenting copies of credentials was attended by the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Dominican Republic, Ms Alejandra Liriano and Mr César Roberto Dargam Espaillat. Following the ceremony Georgian Ambassador held a meeting with the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Dominican Republic, discussing a wide range of issues, including the prospects of further strengthening of bilateral relations and engaging into a more active cooperation within the multilateral organizations. Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the development of the friendly relations and exchange the views on the further steps to further improve them. The host party welcomed the decision made by the Georgian Government to actively engage with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. On May 19th, Ambassador met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate, Dr. Prim Pujals Nolasco. The sides discussed the role of the legislative organs in terms of promotion of bilateral relations. On May 20th, H.E. Malkhaz Mikeladze visited the Chamber of Deputies, where he was hosted by the Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Ms. Minou Tavárez Mirabal as well as by the members of the committee for the committee hearing on Georgia.

 

During this year, Mr. Mikeladze will present credentials to the President of the Dominican Republic, Mr Danilo Medina, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Dominican Republic.
