On the Visit of the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Panama

Georgian Ambassador to the Republic of Panama (with residence in Mexico City) Malkhaz Mikeladze paid a working visit to Panama from 30th of June to the 2nd of July. In the frames of the visit, Ambassador participated in the inauguration ceremony of the President Elect Juan Carlos Varela and had a number of bilateral meetings with the representatives of the executive branch. 

On June 30th, Ambassador Mikeladze held a meeting with the nominee to the post of the Vice-President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Isabelle de Saint Melo de Alvarado. The meeting was evolved in a constructive atmosphere, the sides discussed different spheres of the bilateral cooperation as well as the ways to further strengthen them. The parties coincided in the need of organizing high level meetings and holding the first round of political consultations. Georgian Ambassador thanked the Panamanian side for its unwavering support towards Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while expressing the hope for fruitful and result-oriented cooperation with the incoming administration of Panama.

The same day, Ambassador took part in the reception organized but the outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama Franscisco Álvarez de Soto. In the frames of the event, Ambassador held conversations with the officials of the Foreign Ministry of Panama discussing the prospects of bilateral relations.

On July 1st, Ambassador of Georgia, in the capacity of the Head of Georgian Delegation, took part in the inauguration ceremony of the President Juan Carlos Varela. Ambassador congratulated H.E. The President of the Republic of Panama with assuming the highest post in the country and wished him every success in the new mandate.
